Job Summary:
Under general supervision, responsible for establishing contact with both internal and external customers, provide the customer with the requested information or assistance concerning the services provided by the agency or direct this request to those who can provide the service. Responsibilities may include operating various types of telephone or communications equipment, including switchboards, communications consoles and fax machines; processing incoming and outgoing mail; serving as a cashier entering log files and ledger files.  

Description of Tasks: 
The functions of this position vary, but may include any of the following:
Answer telephone calls; provides information or refers callers to appropriate staff members; answers inquiries.  Receives visitors, answers inquiries personally or refers visitors to appropriate staff for assistance.  Open and distributes mail, enters documents into log files, processes paperwork, performs data entry.  Completes other job related tasks as prescribed by supervisor or management staff.  Apply agency procedures and rules to processes.   May be required to maintain various ledgers, journals, registers and other fiscal records and posts to various accounts.  Enters reports and payments into computer system. 

Knowledge and Skills:
Skill in conducting several projects simultaneously, in establishing and maintaining satisfactory and effective working relationships with others, and in organizing and presenting facts and opinions clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.  Efficient in keyboard data entry, and possess a working knowledge of current office equipment and machines. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.  Knowledge of telephone procedures, spelling, punctuation, grammar and arithmetic.  Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Education and Experience:
Minimum High School Diploma and 1 year of secretarial/customer service office experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Career Technology training in clerical work or two years of college education is highly desired. 

Job may require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, periods of standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, and hearing.  May be required to lift objects weighing up to or more than 50 pounds.   Possession of a valid Oklahoma driver license is required for the position.
