BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under general supervision performs skilled work using standardized practices the electrical, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing and/or other skilled trade professions; responsible for repair, adjustment, alteration and maintenance of building systems and equipment within a specialized skilled trade or assisting in other skilled trade professions as needs dictate.
Operations of manual tools and/or electrical tools or other equipment, including diagnostic equipment and/or personal computers. Performs preventative maintenance for all specialty area equipment and systems. Uses complex diagnostic equipment in the detection of system/equipment failure or malfunction. Installs and repairs all specialty area systems and equipment. Obtains and documents competitive price quotes, locates vendors and purchases supplies necessary to maintain inventory and complete assigned projects. Designs, engineers and modifies relevant components of remodel projects with in County buildings. Serves as a team member in the design and implementation of remodel projects; may necessitate performing support work within another trade area. Provides mentoring and training to workers and other staff within the assigned trade area. Reads, understands and utilizes complicated blue prints, schematics and plans. Coordinates with architects, engineers and outside contractors to complete assigned projects. Maintains records and work reports on all work performed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's)
Knowledge of methods, tools and materials used in the assigned trade and in commercial building maintenance and repair; Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures; codes and regulations applicable to the specialty system and building maintenance in general; Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations governing the assigned skill trade profession. Ability to operate computer systems used in building system diagnosis; Good manual dexterity and physical endurance to include the physically ability to lift 50 pounds frequently, climb ladders, scaffolding, etc.; work in high spaces, high noise areas, and/or in confined spaces; withstand temperature extremes.
Completion of a skill trades apprenticeship program leading to the equivalent of a journey card or license in one of the skilled trade professions, plus six years of experience in building maintenance or construction trade.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATE Valid Oklahoma Drivers License.
A conditional offer of employment to final candidate will be contingent upon a favorable background check and a substance abuse screening.

This is a full-time unclassified state position with full state retirement and insurance benefits, including paid health, dental, life, and disability insurance. Annual leave of 10 hours per month and sick leave of 10 hours per month begin accruing immediately.
