This position is located in the Land Protection Division; Radiation Management Section in the Oklahoma City office.


1. Use knowledge of spelling, punctuation, and business English to review correspondence and other documents (for spelling, grammar, punctuation and format etc.) drafted by staff in the Radiation Management Section.
2. Handle sending, processing, and receiving of correspondence, reports, permits, and other complex records  as needed. This includes logging incoming mail, entering data in Access database RADMAN, and properly and accurately creating, updating and maintaining paper files.
3. Use knowledge of agency and section policy and procedures to maintain security of documents and information on security of radioactive materials. 
4. Assist in scanning documents and indexing of files for the Radiation Management Section into Edoctus, the electronic documents management system.
5. Assist callers, handle office details, maintain effective working relationships, and provide support as needed, to the Radiation Management Section.
6. Coordination with other clerical staff to ensure clerical services are provided to the Section and the Division.
7. Provide support for industrial radiography certification testing, included but not limited to proctoring tests and processing applications.

Selected candidate must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.  Must have the temperament to remain calm when faced with conflict or difficult situations and capable of effectively and politely communicating, both verbally and in writing.

The Administrative Assistant job family consists of two levels, which are distinguished, based on the level of complexity of specific job assignments, the extent of responsibility assigned, and the level of expertise required for the completion of assigned projects.

Level  I:    
This is the career level where duties and responsibilities will be performed at all levels of complexity.  Employees may supervise others.


Level I:  
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of four years of technical clerical office work or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
