Job Description, essential functions:
Administrative support to 4 attorneys. Prepares non-specialized legal forms & letters for attorney signature, takes meeting minutes, prepares & clerks 3 OAH administrative dockets per week, takes pleadings & orders to OK County District Court to file & coordinate signatures with district judges, coordinates settlement of liens & levies, prepares documents on district court cases for attorneys. Handles filing & mailing of pro se pleadings.
This position may be filled at the alternate level of the JFD depending upon the qualifications of the applicant.
Alternate hiring options must be utilized for potential promotional appointments which result in salary inequities within the JFD.
Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for providing secretarial and administrative support to attorneys.
The Legal Secretary job family consists of three levels which are distinguished by the complexity of the job assignments, the extent of the responsibilities and duties assigned, the level of expertise required for the completion of assigned tasks, and the responsibility for the leadership of others.
This is the basic level where employees will be expected to perform only the most routine tasks. Employees will be expected to gain in-depth knowledge of the program of services being offered.
This is the career level where employees will be expected to perform duties at all levels of complexity.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of three years of experience performing a variety of complex clerical and typing work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of those identified in Level I plus one year of experience as a legal secretary; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
