The Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General is currently seeking a full-time Assistant Attorney General for the Tobacco Enforcement Unit.

Position Summary:
To ensure Oklahoma’s compliance with the multi-state tobacco litigation settlement document known as the Master Settlement Agreement (“MSA”), the Tobacco Enforcement Unit is charged with the enforcement of the Oklahoma Prevention of Youth Access to Tobacco Act and the Master Settlement Agreement Complementary Act. The Tobacco Enforcement Unit’s enforcement efforts consist of conducting inspections of all licensed cigarette retailers, conducting audits of intrastate and interstate cigarette wholesalers licensed in Oklahoma, and engaging in litigation to support the requirements of the MSA when necessary.

The successful candidate will have outstanding legal judgment and be able to effectively and professionally research, prepare, analyze and understand complex information and legal issues. The successful candidate must maintain the integrity of the Attorney General's Office as well as the confidentiality of information as required by the Oklahoma Attorney General. Some in state and out of state travel, including some over-night travel, is required.

Qualifications:
Licensed attorney in the State of Oklahoma with a minimum of two (2) years of related experience.  Excellent research, writing and advocacy skills are required. Preference may be given to prior litigation experience.
