Prevention Program Field Representative

The individual selected for this position will work in the Prevention Division of Central Office located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS).

The individual will work under general supervision, monitor existing strategies and provide technical assistance to providers in the area of primary prevention with a focus on population-based change utilizing public health principles. The ideal candidate should be able to apply change theory principles to strategic planning processes aimed at achieving outcomes. The individual will promote innovative complex solutions to solve complex problems.

Additional duties consist of assuring compliance with ODMHSAS standards, evidence based strategy requirements and other applicable governing/codified standards in managing and delivering prevention services.  The individual selected will be working with the SBIRT Project and its state and local partners.  The individual will be responsible for on-boarding new sites, providing training and presentations, technical assistance and contract monitoring. 

Master’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Human Relations, Psychology, Public Health, Public Administration, Education or related degree and four years professional experience in behavioral health field, of which two years must be in substance abuse prevention or violence prevention services or related prevention experience. OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Note: No substitution for bachelor’s degree.

Preference may be given to applicants who possess one of the following:
Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) or similar license in a behavioral health field (LCSW, LPC, LADC or LMFT). Preference may also be given to those candidates who have provided services in a healthcare setting or an integrated care model. 

Work location: Oklahoma City
Salary: $48,500+
