Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving the production of videos for use in employee training programs and/or to provide information to the public. This includes writing and editing scripts, researching information and materials, providing audio and video support for agency related events, and shooting, producing and editing videos to meet established goals and objectives.
The Video Production job family has three levels which are distinguished based on the complexity of the work assigned, the experience required to perform the work and the responsibility for the leadership of others.
This is the career level of this job family where employees are assigned responsibilities at the full performance level for development and completion of assigned projects, including design, content and production, post-production and delivery.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor's degree in mass communications, journalism, or a closely related field and two (2) years of qualifying experience in video production; or an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one additional year of experience in video production or video script writing for each year of the required education.
The Department of Transportation has been authorized to utilize a Selective Qualification when interviewing applicants for this position.
"Qualified applicants must have at least 2 Years professional work experience using current hi-def. cameras and the Adobe Creative Suite, in particular Premiere Pro CC, After Effects and Photoshop."
