Job Description
The Oklahoma Tax Commission is seeking an economist primarily responsible for oil and gas gross production revenue forecasting and analyzing policy initiatives for fiscal effect. The position requires excellent technical, analytical and communication skills; proficiency with statistical modeling techniques, quantitative research and large data sets; and the ability to analyze complex legislation.

Skills and abilities:
•Ability to provide for the accurate and timely reporting of revenue forecasts, especially related to the forecasting of gross production tax on gas and oil.
•Ability to provide insight into the fiscal impact of policy proposals.
•Ability to think analytically, utilizing different perspectives.
•Ability to develop a knowledge base of Oklahoma's tax law, as well as federal tax law.
•Ability to develop and maintain statistical models for a variety of tax analyses.
•Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Master's Degree in Economics, Finance, or related field with at least 6 credit hours of statistics is preferred. Familiarity with SAS or other statistical or forecasting software is a plus.

Salary: $4,500.00 to $5,333.33 /month
