The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is responsible for providing services to Oklahomans who are affected by mental illness and substance abuse. ODMHSAS strives to provide persistent, incremental improvements in the quality and effectiveness of treatment which results in better recovery for more Oklahomans. Our state-operated facilities are commissioned to provide services that promote consumer empowerment, wellness, recovery, and integration in the community.
Major Work Duties:
Provide mental health services to an inpatient population with services to include assessments, individual/group therapy and behavior management. Conduct competency evaluations for the forensic population and communicate the determination to the court system. Attend training to enhance therapeutic skills and present training as requested, as well as serve as a member of facility committees as assigned. Incumbent may be required to conduct competency to stand trial evaluations after sufficient training and supervision is received as determined by the Appointing Authority and attend court hearings as ordered by the court.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Completion of curriculum requirements for a master’s degree in psychology, social work, guidance and counseling, or closely related field. Must possess a license as an LPC, LCSW, or similar license in the behavioral health field.
Additional Factors for Consideration:
Willing to fulfill any job related travel normally associated with position, e.g., attend training and etc. Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check.

THIS AGENCY REQUIRES COVERAGE 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS PER WEEK. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION MAY VARY DEPENDING ON BUSINESS NECESSITY. EMPLOYEES MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK WEEKENDS AND OVERTIME.
