Public Assistance Specialist II - Galt Contract Temporary
Full or Part Time
Long-term Temporary (Grant dependent)
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 40 hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM), Oklahoma Recovery Office
Travel: Moderate travel during natural disasters and catastrophic events.
Salary: The hiring rate established for this temporary position is $19.43 per hour.
This position will report to the State Public Assistance Officer helping to conduct and administer the Public Assistance program for the State of Oklahoma.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical and administration support to the Public Assistance (PA) program; requiring office and applicant visits as required in support of the PA program; formulate project worksheets; conduct small project validations; manage large projects; participate in preliminary damage assessments; scanning and filing of confidential information; providing instructions and information regarding policy and procedure; and other support duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products; effective communication skills and effective organizational skills; customer service skills; desire to learn; analytical; detailed oriented; and ability to work independently and on a team.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Prefer candidates with finance experience and experience working with government entities.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Applicant subject to a background and motor vehicle check.
Position requires possible response to all hazard events with little or no notice.
