This position is located in OKC, but has the ability to telework.

The Office of Juvenile System Oversight (OJSO) has the responsibility to investigate and report wrongful/unlawful conduct whether intentional or unintentional within Oklahoma’s children and youth service system, to inquire into areas of concern, and to provide independent monitoring of residential and non-residential services to children and youth. This position is responsible for providing administrative and technical support for the OJSO staff.  Due to the nature of the work this position will require the individual to take complaints and review traumatic documents that may be graphic in nature on a regular basis

Typical functions performed:
• Oversight case and file maintenance
• Preparation of travel arrangements and travel claims
• Appointment scheduling
• Correspondence routing
• Ability to take complaints from the public and child -serving agencies and develop summaries of those complaints and assign the complaint to an Oversight Specialist
• Create, organize, and maintain all OJSO records
• Monitor the OJSO complaint line and assign cases to appropriate staff
• Mail distribution
• Prompts Oversight Specialist with compliance issues and deadlines
• Other administrative duties as needed.


Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for providing administrative support for program areas and support functions, or serve as an assistant to, or provide administrative support to an administrator or an official.  This may include supervising an administrative or clerical unit, responsibility for an administration program providing various services to agency customers, and similar duties and responsibilities.  It may also include responsibility for supervising an assigned staff of administrative technicians in performing duties involving the processing of applications for various types of permits or licenses, maintaining various records, preparing correspondence or other materials, and similar activities.


The Administrative Assistant job family consists of two levels, which are distinguished, based on the level of complexity of specific job assignments, the extent of responsibility assigned, and the level of expertise required for the completion of assigned projects.

Level II:    
At this level duties and responsibilities will be at all levels of complexity.  Employees will coordinate activities both internal and external to the organization or program and may supervise others in performing various administrative duties or other activities.


Level II:   
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of five years of technical clerical work or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
