The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is in search of a current student seeking an internship opportunity in the Treasury Department. The prospective intern will participate in a rotational internship designed to provide a multidisciplinary approach to financial sustainability. The intern is expected to learn daily procedures while working alongside staff members including banking, investing, financial forecasting, record keeping, reconciling, and involvement in year-end projects. The intern will apply the skills learned to projects involving basic financial and accounting principles and wil lgain experience utilizing Bloomberg, analyzing investments, creating journal entries, banking procedures, cash flows, and statutory reporting requirements.
Rate of Pay:
This is a paid internship at $15.00/hr.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Applicants must have a current residence in Cook County, IL; be a citizen or national of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an individual otherwise legally authorized to work in the U.S.; and must obtain a referral letter from current school’s class instructor or Internship Coordinator.
Applicants must be a current graduate or undergraduate student seeking a degree in Accounting or Finance. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; specifically Excel.
