Motor Vehicle Dispatcher Supervisor (#20008661)


General Statement

Under direction, supervises Motor Vehicle Dispatchers in the Main Office Building garage.  Schedules daily pool car assignments and routine vehicle maintenance tasks.

  • Supervises the transportation of District officials, employees and visitors and documents as required.
  • Verifies authorization to use District pool vehicles and supervises the parking of District and private vehicles in Main Office Building Garage.
  • Supervises and performs day-to-day maintenance of vehicles as needed, including changing tires and monitoring fluid levels; arranges for servicing and washing; identifies and requests necessary vehicle repairs; maintains records relating to vehicle maintenance.
  • Supervises cleaning and organization of garage area.
  • Prepares the monthly reports on pool car vehicles relating to maintenance and condition.

Other Job Functions

  • Ensures adherence to vehicle warranty requirements.
  • Assists in parking of vehicles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Environmental Conditions

Work is performed in a parking garage setting and may involve exposure to a variety of operating mechanical equipment, loud noises, noxious odors and a variety of weather conditions.  Work requires the operation of a motor vehicle.

  • Skill in the operation and care of automobiles.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment in carrying out assigned responsibilities.
  • Working familiarity with standard automobile maintenance procedures.

Absolute Requirements

Possession of a valid driver's license.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from a standard senior high school or the equivalent and one year of experience in organizing and operating a high volume parking garage.

Promotional Requirement

  • One year of service with the District as a Motor Vehicle Dispatcher.
  • Civil service status as a Motor Vehicle Dispatcher.
