Nature of Work
The primary purpose of this classification is to

workers, while actively participating in maintenance and construction projects
across various City of Montgomery departments. The work responsibilities include
planning work assignments, supervising personnel engaged in both skilled and
semi-skilled tasks, and maintaining accurate documentation of project
activities. The Labor Foreman I position is defined by its dual function as
both a working supervisor and an active contributor to the execution of
assigned tasks. The incumbent must possess comprehensive knowledge of the
duties performed by the crew, as well as the operation of relevant equipment,
in order to effectively monitor work progress and provide on-the-job training
to employees. Work assignments are generally issued at the beginning of each
shift, and it is the responsibility of the foreman to prioritize and allocate

and resolution. The Labor Foreman I position is differentiated from Labor
Foreman II positions primarily by the skill level of the subordinates under
their supervision.
