Nature of Work

The reason the position exists is to ensure the City of Montgomery’s Information Communication Technology (ICT) hardware and software are in compliance with standards, and service level agreements. The Asset Officer’s responsibilities include building, maintaining, and regularly updating the IT hardware and software inventory; maintaining the Computer Lifecycle Replacement Program and Computer Operating System (OS) Lifecycle; and assisting the IT Manager with building a comprehensive asset management strategy. The Asset Officer will have to implement policies created by IT management for the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of assets throughout the city department and will keep track of the assets throughout their lifecycle and ensure that they’re compliant with organizational policies.  This position reports to an IT Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in Business Management or three (3) years’ experience in Asset Management, Office Management, or Budget Management.

NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.   

Kind of Examination
