Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations**

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason that this classification exists is to assist in the maintenance of an inventory of various stored materials. The primary work responsibilities of this classification include: receiving items for inventory, maintaining the items in storage, issuing and releasing items, and performing other related duties. The supervisors of these employees vary by assigned location.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED certificate and six (6) months of experience in warehouse operations such as receiving, issuing and storing materials.

NOTE:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

 

Special Requirements

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have or obtain a valid and current Alabama driver's license in order to drive vehicles for the delivery or pick-up of items.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Incumbents kneel, crouch, twist, climb ladders and stairs, reach, bend, push, pull, drag, grasp and lift items in the storage facility. Some positions may require incumbents to lift up to 80 pounds unassisted.

Kind of Examination

If more than five qualified applications are received, the application will be scored to rank the qualified applicants on the eligible register and tied scores will not be broken. If there are five or less qualified applicants, they will be considered equally qualified and placed on the register in alphabetical order.
