Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations**

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to oversee and participate in the maintenance and construction of ballfields for the City of Montgomery.  Responsibility includes effectively laying out work, maintaining work schedules, and giving technical instructions as required.  The work responsibilities include supervising and assisting crews in constructing and maintaining ballfields; maintaining 20 or more ballfields; and supervising and participating in performing other routine manual tasks. Work is received in the form of specific assignments and frequent conferences with the Ballfield Maintenance Supervisor and the work is inspected occasionally while in progress and upon completion.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years’ experience performing ballfield construction and maintenance duties, including or supplemented by six months experience as a lead worker.

NOTE:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

Special Requirements

Must be willing to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements, to include heat, cold, rain and dust.  May work longer than normal regular hours to ensure completion of projects with deadlines or time frames.
