Nature of Work

This is skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of motorcycles, tractors, post-hole diggers, air compressors, weed eaters, electrical generators and other small gas engines. Employee works under general direction and supervision and is expected to exercise independent judgment as to the method of repair after receiving written or oral instructions concerning the operating conditions of a piece of equipment. Reports directly to the Master Mechanic, Property Maintenance Supervisor, District Park Maintenance Superintendent or Production Controller.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have at least two (2) years’ experience repairing small gas engines such as Briggs and Stratton, Kohler, and Tecumseh or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

Employment is conditioned upon applicants acquiring and maintaining an Alabama Driver’s license and providing a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) from the Department of Public Safety as proof of an insurable driving record.
