Nature of Work

The Administrative Services Manager directs the fiscal and human resources of the Sheriff’s Office which includes all Sheriff’s Office divisions and the Detention Facility. Major responsibilities for the Sheriff’s Office include preparing and assisting in the preparation of the operating budget; managing the purchase of equipment and supplies and the procurement of services; managing the processing of personnel transactions; managing the preparation, processing, and balancing of payroll; processing and maintaining inmate/canteen accounts; supervising two or more permanent employees; and performing related duties. The employee reports directly to the Sheriff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field and four years of experience and responsibility for direction, control, and decision making in financial areas such as budgeting, payroll, purchasing, and related administrative services. The preferred candidate will have oversight experience for complex and diverse financial areas.

Kind of Examination

Tied scores will not be broken. If the number of qualified applicants is equal to or less than the appropriate number for referral, qualified candidates will be certified as equally qualified.
