Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform professional development work related to the design and delivery of the fundraising program at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. The work responsibilities are: establishes and maintains a strategic development plan to include programs such as general membership, upper level membership, philanthropic giving, corporate sponsorship, planned giving, government and foundation grants, and governance administration; develops and delivers these programs directly and via the supervision of a team of two or more employees; creates and manages the Development Department’s budget; works with Museum Director, fellow department directors, and others in the Museum on projects related to the larger operations of the Museum.  The Development Director reports to the Museum Director.

Minimum Qualifications

At least five (5) years’ museum or non-profit development-related experience, to include at least two (2) years in development-related management and leadership roles.

Kind of Examination

Applications are being accepted to fill one (1) vacancy and any other vacancies that may occur during the life of the register.  The current vacancy is with the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts.  Applicants will be screened and qualified based upon education and experience as shown on the application.
