Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this position exists is to assist in the development and implementation of a funding and outreach strategy for the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts.  The essential functions of the position are: assists in planning, directing, and implementing a donor relations program to establish and maintain a systematic program for donor recognition, donor communication, donor acknowledgments, and special events;   promotes, staffs, and attends Museum sponsored events; and performs administrative duties.  Supervision is received from the Museum Development Officer. 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university and one year of experience in professional fundraising, constituent/client relationship management, public relations, or a related area with two years of database management experience.  Qualifying experience may substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.

Kind of Examination

Applications are being accepted to fill one (1) vacancy and any vacancies that may occur during the life of the register.  The current vacancy is with the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts.  Applicants will be screened and qualified based upon education and experience as shown on the application and attached supplemental questionnaire.  For this reason, applicants are urged to fill in the application form and the supplemental questionnaire completely providing detailed information concerning the kinds of jobs they have held, the dates they held them, where and exactly what their duties were.  If more than five qualified applications are received, the supplemental questionnaire will be used to rank applicants on the register.  Tied scores will not be broken (in accordance with Personnel Rules and Regulations, Rule VII, Section 3). If there are five or less qualified applicants, they will be considered equally qualified and placed on the register in alphabetical order.
