Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform manual work which does not require a high degree of manipulative skill or an acquired skill or previous experience.  Work is generally performed under the immediate direction of a supervisor, but many types of work assigned may be very routine and repetitive in nature, and after once learned can be carried out with some independence.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires basic skills in reading and writing and ability to use simple tools and equipment where proficiency is gained in hours or days.

Special Requirements

Some positions require the use of departmental vehicles on departmental business.  Individuals must be capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT -
Applications are being accepted for the position of Service Maintenance Worker I at the Montgomery County Engineering Department located at 100 S. Lawrence Street, Montgomery, AL, 36104.
