Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this position exists is to Prepares, paints and wallpapers interior and exterior surfaces of commercial buildings and structures; supervises skilled and semi-skilled painters; and performs administrative tasks to include maintaining records of work, identifying new products and coordinating projects with supervisors and other employees.  Position reports to Plant Maintenance Manager or Assistant Plant Maintenance Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or G.E.D. Certificate and five (5) years' experience as a journeyman painter, including or supplemented by one year's experience supervising skilled painters.  Experience must include painting interior and exterior of commercial or industrial buildings or structures.

Note:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.


Special Requirements

Must have and maintain a valid Alabama driver's license.  Must pass a criminal background investigation in order to work in the County Detention Facility.  May be required to work weekends to complete certain job duties.
