Performs administrative and secretarial functions in support of the Chief Probate Clerk; performs personnel functions to include completing certifications for employment, orienting new employees, and handling Workers Compensation claims; collects bad checks; processes notary applications; supervises summer. youth and temporary employees; assists accounting department; performing customer service/receptionist functions; and assisting with elections. Reports to the Chief Probate Clerk.
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate including or supplemented by one year of training in typing, shorthand and office procedures. Typing skill at 37 w.p.m and shorthand skill at 80 w.p.m demonstrated by tests administered by the State Employment Service. Three years of progressively responsible secretarial and administrative experience including or supplemented by one year of experience at the management or executive level.
