Senior Crime Center Analyst (#CI8481)

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this position exists is to perform advanced professional and technical work in real-time crime analysis, intelligence development, and strategic public safety support. The work responsibilities include providing high‑level analytical expertise, leading complex intelligence efforts, and ensuring operational continuity within the STAR Center. Senior Crime Center Analysts serve as subject‑matter experts and provide technical guidance, quality control, and supervision to Crime Center Analysts. The position contributes directly to enhancing law enforcement operations by generating timely, actionable, and strategically significant intelligence products. Incumbents in this role assist in workflow coordination and will serve as a lead civilian point of contact within the STAR Center. Employees have an expectation of greater independence, judgment, and initiative than the Crime Center Analyst classification. This classification reports to the STAR Center Lieutenant.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law Enforcement, Computer Science, Information Technology, Intelligence Studies, or a closely related field, and four (4) years of responsible experience in crime analysis, intelligence analysis, or investigative support for law enforcement, with two (2) years of lead or training experience.  Experience must include real‑time analytical work and the use of advanced analytical technologies. Possession of a relevant certification (e.g., Digital Forensics, Crime Analysis, or Intelligence Analysis) may be preferred.
