The fundamental reason this class exists is to perform technical and manual work in the installation, operation, maintenance and storage of stage and other equipment for a variety of special events and venues. The essential functions include designs, constructs, installs and breaks down audio, visual and other equipment for special events; installs, operates, troubleshoots and repairs specialized audio, visual, lighting and related equipment; maintains, receives, issues, transports and inventories equipment and supplies; and advises and consults with clients on staging operations. Work is performed under the supervision of the District Parks Maintenance Supervisor.
Associates degree in Theater Technology, Electronics or a related field; or two years of experience in the design and installation of sound systems, stage lighting, and related technical systems used in a large public assembly facility; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to work odd hours, nights, weekends and holidays. Must be physically able to climb, stoop and bend in order to setup equipment and install lighting instruments. Must have and maintain a valid Alabama Driver's License.
