The fundamental reason this position exists is to direct and manage the tennis operations at O'Connor Tennis Center, and provide assistance at Lagoon Park. Duties include overseeing the daily activities and programs; providing individual and group tennis lessons; planning and administering tennis tournaments; planning and coordinating tennis programs; and supervising full-time and part-time employees. The employee reports directly to the Tennis Manager.
Graduation from a four year college or university in Parks and Recreation, Business or Public Administration and two years responsible tennis operations experience to include teaching tennis lessons and administering tournaments with at least one year of tennis facility management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Preference may be given to a candidate who possesses a professional tennis certification from either the United States Professional Tennis Association or the United States Professional Tennis Registry.
