The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform supervisory work, assisting in the management of zoo retail operations, including the gift shop and admission programs. The employee in this class assists the Zoo Retail Manager in planning and directing all retail operations at the City of Montgomery Zoo. The essential functions are: assists with managing and coordinating operational activities; supervise employees in the zoo retail operations; and prepares and maintains daily reports. General supervision is received from the Zoo Retail Manager.
High school diploma or GED. Two years of experience in a retail sales operations such as, merchandise, gift, or souvenir shops, to include at least one year of experience supervising retail sales staff; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and special events.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when receiving, inspecting and storing merchandise.
