Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform administrative and supervisory work over community centers in the Parks and Recreation Department. 

The essential functions are:  plans, organizes, and monitors community center activities; supervises two or more employees; prepares and maintains records and reports; coordinates the transportation of program and special events participants; manages ceramic programs; administers operational budget for arts and crafts; maintains professional self-development; and serves as a liaison between the Parks and Recreation Department and the general public.  The employee reports directly to the Recreation Division Superintendent.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in  Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER), or related degree and three (3) years' experience in the recreation profession  including two (2) years supervisory experience.

NOTE:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
