The fundamental reason this
classification exists is to manage a city-wide program of athletics under the
direction of the Athletic Division Superintendent. The primary work responsibilities of this
position are: to direct and supervise various programs, supervise subordinates, troubleshoot problems, perform
administrative duties, and promote
athletic programs and activities. Work involves working extended hours and
holidays during peak seasons and special events. General supervision is
received from the Athletic Superintendent.
Bachelor’s
degree in Recreation Administration, Sports Management, Physical Education, or
a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the management of
a football or baseball stadium or a related sports facility, to include one (1)
year of supervisory experience.

education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills,
and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
