fundamental reason this classification exists is to plan, supervise, and
document the fee collection, maintenance, repair, and installation activities
of Parking Meter Division of Parking Management.
Primary work responsibilities may include: supervising two or more full-time employees;
planning, assigning, and scheduling work; training and advising subordinates in
maintenance and repair techniques; maintaining accurate records; overseeing
ordering of equipment and materials; performing fee collection and processing
duties; and performing maintenance, repair, and installation duties. Work is
performed under the general s
upervision of the Real Property Manager.
school diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience working in public or
private parking facilities OR three (3) years of experience in fee and/or money
collection and deposit reconciliation, including one year of experience as a
supervisor or lead worker. Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s
license and an insurable driving record as needed to operate city vehicle.
Physical ability to walk, bend, stoop,
crouch, squat, and kneel for extended periods of time as needed for the
collection of meter fees and the maintenance and installation of meters. Physical ability to lift, carry,
push, and/or pull coins and equipment weighing up to 70lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a variety of weather
conditions with exposure to the elements to include extreme heat, cold, rain,
and lightning. Work is performed in uncontrolled work environments, including
but not limited to, work zones and in close proximity to heavy traffic.
