The fundamental reason this classification exists is to oversee a crew of semi-skilled and unskilled workers and participate in the maintenance of lawns and grounds of City parks and buildings. Responsibilities include effectively laying out work and maintaining work schedules and giving technical instructions as required. The essential functions include organizing and directing the work of a group of employees and performing other maintenance duties. Work is received in the form of specific assignments and the work is inspected occasionally while in progress and upon completion. Supervision is received from the District Parks Maintenance Superintendent and/or the Parks Division Superintendent.
One year of experience as a lead worker on a landscape crew performing landscape maintenance duties.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and insurable driving record as needed to operate City vehicles.
