Civil Engineering Student Intern (#CI5036)

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this job exists is to perform technical civil and/or traffic engineering work under close supervision and to receive training and experience directly related to the academic major.  Students may perform a variety of duties such as drafting, materials testing, surveying, traffic counting, traffic control device inventories, or project inspections.  Positions may be full-time or part-time depending on the employee’s academic course load.

Minimum Qualifications

Enrollment in an accredited four-year college in Civil Engineering; or 

Enrollment in a pre-Engineering curriculum at an accredited two or four-year college; or

Enrollment in college-level courses such as Calculus, Analytic Geometry, Chemistry, Physics, Surveying, etc., that will transfer to a Civil Engineering program at an accredited four-year college.

NOTE:    Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
