Nature of Work

The fundamental reason that this job exists is to provide technical support in the Economic & Community Development Department. Incumbents may work in any one of several areas of the Department including land use control, grants, urban forestry, transportation planning, highway safety and long range planning. Essential functions include processing applications, collecting and analyzing data, providing customer service, coordinating various projects and activities, performing technical duties related to assignment, and performing various miscellaneous tasks. Work is performed under the general supervision of other technical staff and/or professional level supervisors and managers.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent and two (2) years of responsible administrative support experience in urban planning, geography, land use/urban forestry, grant management OR two (2) years of college education in a related field.

NOTE:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
