Violence Prevention Community Liaison (#CI1201)


FLSA Status

The reason this position exists is to manage communication efforts between the Office of Violence Prevention (OVP) and the public.  The liaison will manage the communication efforts between the public and OVP by engaging community leaders, connecting people in the broader community and cultivating relationships that will identify risks in the community. The employee will coordinate community outreach events and recruit volunteers for outreach projects while building trust and strong relationships with participants in the community.   The Violence Prevention Community Liaison will report directly to the Violence Prevention Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years’ experience in conducting community outreach and coordination.

NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

Special Requirements

Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
