The
fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform clerical, legal and
technical support in the daily operations of the Municipal Court. Employees in
this class interact regularly with the public, including attorneys, citizens,
and law enforcement personnel. The work responsibilities include performing
general clerical and cashier duties, processing and issuing legal documents,
conducting warrants and alias checks for dispatchers, scheduling court dates,
receiving misdemeanor guilty pleas, and dismissing violations. The Court
Operations Clerk I differs from the Court Operations II in that the employee is
responsible for routine clerical, legal and technical duties. Work is generally
reviewed for accuracy and conformity with federal,
state, and local laws by a Court Operations Clerk II and/or Court Operations
Supervisor. Employees exercise authority within established
laws and guidelines with some independence. General supervision is received
from the Court Operations Supervisor.
