Nature of Work

This is supervisory work over the Procurement Department. This work includes overseeing all purchasing operations involved in the processing of purchasing requisitions, competitive bidding process, and surplus sales. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Finance Director. The employee in this position exercises independent judgment with the latitude afforded by prescribed Department and state bid law policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have graduated from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a closely-related field. Must have at least five (5) years of experience in governmental purchasing including at least one year (1) of supervisory experience.

NOTE:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
