City Operations Program Specialist (#CI0684)

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to support the planning, coordination, and execution of citywide operational and capital improvement initiatives. The work responsibilities include overseeing the development, renovation, and implementation of projects across City departments. This role involves project tracking, interdepartmental coordination, vendor and contractor support, regulatory compliance, and data reporting. The Operations Program Specialist ensures that projects meet performance expectations and align with the City's strategic priorities while serving as a liaison between program managers, departmental leaders, and external stakeholders. This classification reports to and receives general direction from the City Operations Program Manager, Department Head, or Cabinet member.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Management, or a related field, or possession of a Project Management Certification and three (3) years of experience in project coordination, operations support, or public sector programs oversight. Experience in construction, facility improvement, or municipal operations is a plus.   

NOTE: Qualifying education, training, and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
