The
fundamental reason this position exists is to provide professional
administrative support and supervision over the accurate accounting and
maintenance of the city's fixed asset inventory, which includes a wide range of
items such as buildings, vehicles, sanitation trucks, land, roads, street
lights, and more. The Fixed Assets Manager ensures efficient and accurate
processing of fixed asset data, provides guidance and support to the Fixed
Assets Accountant, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and
governmental regulations. The work responsibilities include supervising the
Fixed Assets Accountant classification, overseeing the collection,
verification, and categorization of asset data, ensuring compliance with
applicable laws and regulations, and leading efforts to continuously improve
accounting processes for better accuracy, efficiency, and integration. This
classification reports to the Accounting Manager.
Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting or Finance and five (5) years of professional accounting experience,
including at least three (3) years of experience in fixed asset accounting at a
lead or senior level. Public sector experience is a plus.
