I/grade 14: Hiring salary range: $53,808/year - $58,923/year, with
potential progression to $86,322/year
§ Network Adequacy Analyst II/grade 15: Salary
range: $57,275/year - $92,108/year
§ Network Adequacy Analyst III/grade 16: Salary range: $60,987/year - $98,313/year

Baltimore City, Hybrid (between office and
telework), or 100% remote
POSITION DUTIES
The MIA is recruiting for a Network Adequacy
Analyst I, II, or III in the Life and Health Division. This position
performs analysis of network access plans and waiver requests submitted by
health insurers, HMOs, nonprofit health services plans, and dental plans, to
ensure provider panel adequacy and compliance with Maryland laws and
regulations. The analysis includes evaluating the methodologies used by
companies to measure network adequacy and determining whether specific
quantitative metrics for network adequacy standards have been met with
sufficient documentation and justification. This position corresponds
with companies to request additional information concerning network access
plans and/or issues, deficiencies, or violations of Maryland statutes or
regulations. The incumbent drafts, reviews, and edits plan analysis and waiver
related reports and makes recommendations for corrective actions. This position
may also assist with market conduct examinations and investigations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Network Adequacy Analyst I
Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or
university.
Experience: None
Note: Four years experience analyzing
contracts, services, or programs for compliance with a health insurance or
insurance regulatory agency may substitute on a year-for year basis for the
educational requirements.
Network Adequacy Analyst II
Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or
university.
Experience: One year experience analyzing contracts, services, or programs for compliance, with a health insurance or insurance regulatory agency.
Note: Additional experience analyzing
contracts, services, or programs for compliance with a health insurance or
insurance regulatory agency may substitute on a year-for year basis for the
educational requirements.
Network Adequacy Analyst III
Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or
university.
Experience: Two years experience analyzing contracts, services, or programs for compliance, with a health insurance or insurance regulatory agency.
Note: Additional experience analyzing
contracts, services, or programs for compliance with a health insurance or
insurance regulatory agency may substitute on a year-for year basis for the
educational requirements.
