POSITION DUTIES

This role primarily involves offering legal assistance to the assigned supervisor, with a focus on post-judgment debt collection activities for the State of Maryland, particularly regarding garnishment accounts. Responsibilities include responding to routine phone calls and email inquiries, as well as general filing. A key priority for this position will be preparing Circuit/District Court garnishments. This involves ensuring all figures are accurate and up-to-date, correctly entering appropriate costs into the judgment screen, and verifying that all employment and service information is accurate. Please note that this position requires a mandatory one-month in-office training period, and employees are required to work a minimum of two days per week in the office. Please be aware that training requirements are subject to change. This is a special appointment position that serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate

Experience: Two years of experience performing clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of experience with Maryland Court procedures

One (1) year of experience in customer service
