Part-Time: 32 hours per week.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) invites eligible candidates to apply for an internship with The Chesapeake and Coastal Service Unit. This opportunity will provide hands-on experience in the Environmental Education and Outreach field.

Annapolis MD, Anne Arundel County 

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to support the Aquatic Resources Education Program. Duties will include, but will not be limited to; developing and conducting classroom and field fishing programs, conducting fishing-based environmental education and outreach programs, events and workshops for both youth and adults, and fishing gear maintenance.

The internship runs 9 weeks between June and August. The specific start/end dates, hours, and schedule will be determined in collaboration between the intern and supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be a current college student, undergraduate or graduate level. A GPA of 2.5 or above is required for academic credit. 

Must have or obtain a fishing license to be considered

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fishing experience 
  • Leadership and/or teaching experience
  • Relevant major or minor (education, biology, environmental science, wildlife management, outdoor recreation, Parks & Recreation)
  • Proficient using Google workplace applications (Google docs, sheets, forms, etc.)
