Main Purpose of Job

The Eastern Shore Regional Office has broad responsibilities for managing and overseeing a large, complex and comprehensive array of DDA funded community-based services to persons with developmental disabilities in the DDA Eastern Shore Region which includes Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico and Worcester Counties. Responsibilities include overseeing the application and eligibility determination process, planning and coordinating the expenditures of the multi-million dollar base budget for community services, monitoring utilization of annual expansion allocations and services to approximately 2500 individuals, responsiveness to individuals with disabilities and other stakeholders, frontline responsibility for administering multiple statewide initiatives, coordinating and collaborating with governmental and private agencies at the local and regional levels, working to close service gaps, and monitoring and evaluating DDA funded services to achieve maximum quality, effectiveness and program efficiency.

This position requires extensive travel within Maryland, including on-call for emergencies. Evening and weekend availability as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of professional experience in health or human services including management of budgets and staffing, three (3) years of which must have been professional work related managing services and supports for people with intellectual and developmental disability and three (3) years of which must have been at the managerial and/or supervisory level.

A Master’s degree will substitute for one year of the general experience and a Doctorate will substitute for two years of the general experience. Additional experience will substitute on a year-for-year for the college degree.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A Resume is a required part of your application and must be uploaded.
