Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
§ Administer and interpret
Federal and State laws and policies governing all public assistance programs
and welfare reform initiatives. Formulate long-range and short range
goals based on an analysis of a variety of internal and external environmental
factors impacting service delivery.
§ Establishes performance
standards and controls to ensure program goals, objectives, benchmarks and
action plans are accomplished and assess the overall effectiveness and
efficiency of program operations, ensure that necessary improvements in
productivity, quality, and effectiveness are made.
§ Develop, present, and
execute a budget to support program goals. Review, evaluate and recommend
funding for welfare-to-work program proposals. Monitor program outcomes
and expenditures. Anticipate and respond appropriately to contingency
situations including overtime requests.
§ Oversee and provide
technical assistance to senior managers performing comprehensive and
substantive monitoring of contractual agreements throughout the procurement and
contract life cycle.
§ Direct senior managers on
internal controls, compliance, auditing, problem resolution and invoices for
contractual agreements.
§ Promote
the Department’s purpose, mission, values, and services to customers, community
leaders, and the general public to enhance their understanding. Represent
the Department at State and interagency meetings and committees.

BENEFITS
