Main Purpose of Job

The incumbent manages the Family Services unit, overseeing Child Welfare and Adult Services programs. This role involves supervising professional and support staff, ensuring all services are delivered in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The position is responsible for coordinating program activites, monitoring budgets and performance outcomes, and addressing audit findings to improve service delivery. Strong skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and leadership are essential.The role requires building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including community partners. The manager will also play a key role in strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts within the department. This position reports directly to the Director of Social Services.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Manages and plans for all mandated for all mandated services for both Child Welfare and Adult Services in accordance with federal, state, local and agency guidelines. 
  • Ensures policies, procedures, guidance and standards for program delivery and effectively implemented within the unit and in service delivery to customers through the use of appropriate quality assurance methods.
  • Leads and supervises staff to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services while coaching and developing them to achieve individual, team and organizational goals in alignment with policies and guidelines. 
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership, internal and external partners/stakeholders e.g. county and state officials, local department of social services, and community partners. 
  • Allocates fiscal and human resources to ensure all programs responsibilities are managed and implemented effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Master's degree in a Human Services field e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Sociology
Experience: Three years of child welfare experience, Three years of supervisory experience Two years of program and project management experience

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The Ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Three years experience in Child Welfare within the public sector.
  • Three years experience in leading diverse teams.
  • Three years experience in establishing and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
  • Three years experience in Child, Juvenile Adult Management system (CJAMS).
