Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide administration, coordination and management, in collaboration with the Regional Director, of all Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) funded, community-based services for individuals with developmental disabilities in the region and to ensure effective and efficient operations within the regional office. Additionally, this position provides for the coordination of emergency placements and functions as the Regional Director in their absence.

This position is authorized for hybrid telework. This position may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends due to meetings, conferences, site monitoring, provider consultations and on-call emergencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and six years of professional experience in health or human services, three years of which must have been professional work experience related to services for people with developmental disabilities at the managerial and/or supervisory level. A related master’s degree will substitute for one year of general experience; a doctorate for two years. A doctorate will substitute for two years of the general experience. Additional experience will substitute year for year for the college degree.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Desired candidates should possess:
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with the Maryland Medicaid Waiver, CMS Community Rule, Person Centered Planning and the DDA Policy on Reportable Incidents and Investigations
  • Professional work experience related to managing services and supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
