Main Purpose of Job
This position manages a program of four or more units of staff providing clinical consultation, training, evaluation and support in the delivery of child welfare/adult services. The position develops and executes plans which ensure the implementation of the goals and objectives set for the assigned program and the overall mission of the agency. The position’s core responsibility is to ensure the safety, permanency and well being of every vulnerable adult and child in each caseload.
POSITION DUTIES
- Plans, develops, coordinates, and evaluates program services to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local policies and procedures, program guidelines, unit goals and objectives.
- Provides clinical support for staff in the assessment, formulation of diagnostic impressions, psychotherapeutic counseling and treatment of mental disorders and other conditions; assuring that decisions made reflect the usage of best practices.
- Provides assigned staff with the strategies needed to handle issues of a clinical nature and address secondary trauma inherent in the work.
- Reviews case records and other case materials to evaluate the quality of casework services rendered; the appropriateness of actions; documentation, compliance with state/local policy/regulations, and timely completion, etc.
- Maintains records and controls needed for monthly statistical reports, service/compliance reviews, program development and/or evaluation, etc.
- Assigns program responsibility in a manner that is consistent and guarantees coverage at all times.
- Trains new staff, ensures all staff attend mandated annual training.
- Evaluates worker’s performance according to established standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Five years of public and/or private child welfare experience, with two of those years supervising subordinates.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have demonstrated many or preferably all of the following:
- One year of experience with in home family services.
- One year of experience with child protective services.
- One year of experience utilizing data for monitoring and tracking program performance.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Possession of an LCSW-C licensure from the Maryland Board of Social Work.
