POSITION DUTIES
This position will support the Maryland State Department of Education’s (MSDE) mission of using objective, data-driven measures of success, as determined by state and national standards, by managing the coordination and administration of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and by supporting activities and duties for the Maryland State Assessment Program.
- Manage the National and international portion of the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP).
- Provide technical assistance and direction for the coordination and administration for NAEP.
- Develop and implement the NAEP State Dissemination Plan.
- Analyze reports and disseminate NAEP results to MSDE.
- Recruit schools for the NAEP sample.
- Provide assistance for communication of NAEP information to parents of children selected and the general public.
- Prepares, validates the accuracy and security of reports, special studies and correspondence.
- Reviews proposed and existing legislation for possible impact to assessment data, programs and processes.
- Performs site visits as necessary for assessment purposes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Master’s degree or the equivalent of 36 credit hours of post-baccalaureate course work from an accredited college or university.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
- Knowledge of educational assessment programs and online educational assessments.
- Experience working in a State of District office of education assessments.
- Experience in providing technical assistance with assessment programs.
- Experience with Managing an education program or Project Management experience.
- Experience with executive-level reporting.
