The Comptroller’s General Accounting Division located in beautiful Annapolis is looking to fill the role of a Systems Control Accountant Manager in our financial reporting and systems team. Responsibilities will include assisting all state agencies with accounting review of applicable and treatment of GASB pronouncements, developing and maintaining financial accounting operational standards for all State agencies, troubleshooting and resolving technical accounting matters for all state agencies throughout the fiscal year, review and approval of journal entries and accounting reconciliations prepared by staff, engaging directly with internal and external auditors, assisting with the preparation of the Annual Report, overseeing the preparation of the bi-annual Fees and Users report and overseeing special projects as needed. Responsibilities will also include leading and developing your accounting team through technical training and coaching. Come join us!
Please note: You will be unable to prepare tax returns for compensation due to potential conflicts of interest with your duties as a Comptroller of Maryland employee. Vacation usage is limited July through December.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar discipline from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four years of government experience ensuring appropriate and consistent interpretation of and compliance with statutory and generally accepted accounting principles in a fiscal control agency and three years of experience in a leadership position or managing staff.
