INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER

FINANCIAL COMPLIANCE AUDITOR MANAGER

Recruitment #25-004544-0001

Introduction

Maryland’s Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program makes sure all workers in Maryland have paid time off for medical and family reasons. FAMLI is a social insurance system covering 2.8 million workers and 180,000 employers, delivered as a digitally native, public-facing service. We’re in the early stages of building something as big and as far-reaching as unemployment insurance or a new health department. The Financial Services Directorate is responsible for establishing and maintaining an efficient financial system, including internal controls and financial procedures, for the FAMLI Division. The Financial Services Directorate safeguards FAMLI funds and other assets, manages FAMLI contributions and benefits payouts, develops financial reports, prepares budgets and projections, and designs and conducts internal audits, as well as responding to external financial audits. The Internal Audit Manager will lead all auditing work for the FAMLI Division as a part of the Financial Services Directorate. As FAMLI is a new division, the Manager will have the opportunity to develop all aspects of the auditing function at FAMLI, including developing standard procedures, hiring and training audit staff, and creating and maintaining internal controls that ensure high-quality and reliable audits. If you are a proactive financial professional with a passion for public service, this is the job for you!

This is a Management Service position that serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.
